Mexico is entering one of the most significant energy and digital infrastructure expansion cycles in its history, creating a compelling opportunity for hyperscalers, colocation providers, developers, and infrastructure investors.

Driven by artificial intelligence, cloud computing, and nearshoring, the country is strengthening its power infrastructure through a coordinated strategy that combines public, private, and mixed investment to support long term industrial and digital growth.

The information and investment figures presented in this white paper are based on the Government of Mexico's Plan de Fortalecimiento y Expansión del Sistema Eléctrico Nacional 2025–2030 (National Electric System Strengthening and Expansion Plan 2025–2030), the Plan de Desarrollo del Sector Eléctrico (PLADESE) (Electric Power Sector Development Plan), the Programa de Desarrollo del Sistema Eléctrico Nacional (PRODESEN) (National Electric System Development Program), and industry information published by the Mexican Data Center Association (MEXDC).

This white paper examines how these national initiatives are reshaping Mexico's energy landscape and what they mean for future data center development, including power availability, grid infrastructure, site selection, investment planning, and long-term project viability.
